Damascus from above: a city that runs into the haze
صورة من مجموعة سوريا عن قربFrom Mount Qasioun Damascus is a sea of beige rooftops, broken by minarets and the dome of the Umayyad Mosque, until the city melts into the Ghouta haze.
From the air the modern districts become a web of streets meeting at roundabouts, with parks as green patches between them.
And when snow falls in winter the whole city changes: white palms, white domes, and only the yellow taxis keep their colour.
