Networks
The two mobile operators are Syriatel and MTN, with 4G in cities. SIM cards are sold at their service centres with your passport.
Roaming
Some foreign operators have enabled roaming in Syria; it can be expensive. Ask your provider before travelling.
Wi-Fi
Most city hotels and cafés have Wi-Fi; speeds vary. Home internet may drop during power cuts.
Tip
Download offline maps before you arrive and save your accommodation addresses in Arabic.
Some global services and apps may not work from Syria.
